Ann's Comments (1991): "The design of this quilt was inspired by a handkerchief, a gift from Hiroko Yamada of Japan, which is pieced into the quilt.

I constructed the quilt in January, 1990, at the Point Bonita Quilter's Retreat, with the advice of fellow quilter Christa Lamfuss of (then) West Germany.

Point Bonita is just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. About 60 quilters stay at a YMCA camp there for a week and just make quilts. I've gone the last two years and am overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of beautiful and innovative quilts being made.

This is going to the quilt fair in Archbold, OH."
