Ann's Comments (1997): “During the past year, I’ve made several series of Celtic Crosses. The method I’ve figured out involves starting with 16 square pieces of fabric, then cutting and mixing and matching, and in the end generating 8 wall hangings.

These crosses from the third series were made in response to Steve Harrington’s summer sermons about the Trinity. Altering the process, I started out with 24 square pieces of fabric, 8 each for Creator (or God or Father, etc.), Redeemer (Jesus, Son), and Sustainer (Holy Spirit).

The 24 original fabrics were associated in some way with the Trinity: by color – red or white for Redeemer; by figures – schools of fish for Creator; or by some unarticulated feeling of mine.

These are three of the 8 finished crosses, each containing fabric representing all three parts of the Trinity.”
