Ann's Comments (1991): “New Pieces Fabric and Chamber Music, a fabric store/quilt gallery/ chamber music venue in Berkeley (CA), had a ‘Black and White Challenge’ last year, for which this quilt was made.

Entrants were given three fabrics of which at least two had to be used. Also required was a small amount of one solid color, and then any black, gray, or white fabrics you wanted.There were something like 60 or 70 quilts made for this challenge and hung in the gallery, and all were totally different and really wonderful.”
